‘Desibožeizmašine/deusexMaki” is a hybrid walk through cyberspace and the city of Belgrade. Marija, an aspiring young research artist and her online proxy Maki guide a group on a walk through the multiverse of Belgrade, while broadcasting live for a limited number of online viewers. Online and offline audience members share an immersive, interactive and participatory experience while the very meaning of these words is being questioned in the context of Theater and Internet. The author and performer, Marija Barna-Lipkovski, has created a unique offline and online experience: using digital technology we use every day "Desibožeizmašine/deusexMaki” is shedding new light on the nature of this technology, guiding you “through the Shadow of Internet” .
“‘Desibožeizmašine/deusexMaki” is the first step on a road of transformation of Threepenny. We believe theater should be sensitive to the world of today, a world where communication is mostly digital. That is why we are creating a new, hybrid theatrical forms that brings together online and offline audiences. Furthermore, we are hoping to create a community of people interested in hybrid forms of art. New forms of art need new, hybrid forms of production. Our dream is to make our audience our community and a theater that is made for and by it's audience. Desibozheizmashine/deusexMaki was partially supported through our Indiegogo campaign. This was our first crowdfunding, and we hope crowdfunding can bring not just money, but also new interest in theater.
